# How to Download a Google Docs
You can download files from Google Docs with several methods, download them directly to your desktop or send them as email attachments and download them.
Email Google Doc as a PDF/Word doc:
Step 1
Start your Google Docs, and sign in using the Google account where the documents you want to share are stored.
Step 2
Select the File menu, then click "Email as attachment" in the drop-down menu that appears.
Step 3
On the email delivery sheet, fill in the recipient's email address and select the document format to attach. By default, the document is attached in PDF format, but you can convert it to Word, Text, and more.

Next, fill the subject and notes into your email if needed.

Then click Send, then your document will be converted and emailed to the recipient.
Download Google Doc and share it as a PDF/Word doc:
In addition to sending as an email attachment, you can also download the file as a Word doc or PDF file. Then share it with the people you want, the following ways:

Click the File menu > select the "Download" item.

You can then select a Word or PDF document to download the file in that format. But you also have some other options to choose from to download the document.
