# Using Google Docs Grammar and Spelling Checker
To use Google Docs spell and grammar checking tool, it's straightforward. See the steps below.
Step 1
Select "Tool" in the menu bar.
Step 2
Then click "Spelling and grammar," then select "Spelling and grammar check."
Step 3
Next, a box will open, allowing you to correct any Google Docs spelling and grammar suggestions. You can accept or ignore these recommendations.
Step 4
To ignore everything or accept everything, click the "More" option > and click "Ignore all" or "Accept all."
If there's a spelling that Google Docs thinks is incorrect when it's true, it's only because Google Doc doesn't recognize the vocabulary. You can add that vocabulary to your dictionary, so it's not marked as a spelling error. Click the "Add to dictionary" button to do so.
# Set Up Automatic Google Docs Spelling and Grammar Checker
If you turn on Google Doc's automatic spelling, it's corrected right away every time you type.
Step 1
Click "Tool" in the menubar, then click "Spelling your grammar."
Step 2
Select "Show spelling suggestions" or "Show grammar suggestions."

By enabling grammar suggestions and spelling suggestions, unrecognized vocabulary and misspelled words will be marked with a red underscore. And the words underlined in blue are from your dictionary.

You can also use a third-party grammar checker app, such as Grammarly. But you have to spend some money to subscribe to a premium account.
There are two ways to check your Google documents' spelling and grammar, namely manually and automatically. For Grammarly to correct your writing automatically, you must install the extension to the Chrome browser.
And to check spelling and grammar manually, you have to copy your writing to the Grammarly checking page. You must be logged in with your Grammarly premium account.
